May 12 - Mother's Day one month relocation anniversary

Yesterday marked one month that we had to be out of the old and headed to the new!

We crossed over the Mississippi and kept going west!

The weeks have been so busy before and after that I can help but hit some of the high points. 

First weekend here we hit the arts festival - very beautiful art nothing typical of craft fairs we had seen before and these large wind mobiles were both of our favorites! And several thousands of dollars!

(Obviously we have very good taste??)

We saw our first trick roper act! And he got much better thru the show!

Saw waitresses in really short skirts!

And no Einstein you can not go there without me!

We wandered and hiked and found lots of music and beer

Love the stepping stones of progress

These buildings help us find our way around the Sundance Square and of course we worked on our saucer at the Flying Saucer beer spot

This was very ummy! 

And Einstein enjoys his very dark stouts

This is actually on a college campus in town

Trinity park system is next to our hotel-home and it is near the botanical gardens so lots of great walking - 

Beautiful old live oaks

And a movie tavern that serves beer and food during the movies!

Huge dandelions! 

Bike stations that you can rent and ride for 30 minutes or a day--and did I mention beer and barbeque!? 

And I worked for a couple weeks but not quite ready for the 8-5 at least without a home

And then we closed on our house! But no furniture for two more weeks! 

We got this great lil guy this past weekend ( I guess it was sorta a Mother's Day??? Hmmmm!

Home at last

A home...it is ours but we still live in a hotel -so much to do to get ready for our stuff.  The house has been empty over a year so spiders, bugs and furry friends have run free. They won't be running at all much longer - thanks to Einstein! And poison!

It was so nice to open windows and wash down base boards and windows and wood floors to smell clean again.  Did you know that if the water doesn't run regularly it will start to stink and you have to run it for about twenty minutes! Shhheeewwwweee the "guest house" smelled really bad!

We dumped out our little water fountain that is super cheap and stupid looking and I will either talk Einstein into a new one or wonder if I could spray it with primer and gray. I will look into that.

Trimmed bushes, edged around the party deck... And Einstein and I worked like a team! Very nice indeed! Marley hung out on the porch while we went into town and ate at babe's a family style chicken.

New Monday

Monday in a new town for a week and I started a new job with the same company I worked for in Atlanta - very different position though and a much better paycheck!
Took about 45 mins to get there this morning land only a brief encounter with slow to stop traffic.

Different personalities in this office of course and they personalities of these work places always interest me (such an HR kinda person) hmmm wonder if we need sports team thirty day.....
Def needs team building all texans think they are islands that make up this great state and this office is no different.
Any way lots of little interesting moments and my dear Einstein didn't once ask me about it until at dinner I said  "I wanted to tell you about my day!"  He replies, " yes I want to hear!" But he is looking at blowing menus at our table and obviously not there so I stop mid sentence to see if he is listening... Nope he's not. Oh well he is playing "what if" scenarios about getting our youngest chickie out here and she can be rather demanding.
"If you pick her up you are done for the day, you're not going back to work." Hmmmmm wonder when he thought I died and made him my boss???? I will do what I want thank you Einstein!

So tired, well hydrated and well walked but feel full and over weight....and a lil' uninteresting......
But tomorrow is new Tuesday!

A weekend for us

After months of worry, work, wonder, cry.... Pack move drive worry and work....last visits here last dinners there, sadness of leaving Number #1 son and our weekend rituals of Friday night dinners....

We had a weekend of me and Einstein ~~ ahhhhhh ~~ and like a warm bath it was rejuvenating.

Saturday we enjoyed the warm Texas sun and blue skies. We were surrounded by beautiful art and the creative souls that authored the art. http://www.mainstreetartsfest.org/

Wow April here we are

Amazing how the past three months have had a speed unseen before (tg!). But we put our house on the market and sold it to the first person that called the first morning! And all the finishing hoops have been jumped thru (thank you SO much my own dear Einstein) We have a house we are going to be moving into at the end of this month in Texas.  We just celebrated our first grandbaby  with family and friends (can't wait to see your pics Sweet daughter of mine )

So I have caught you and me up with events that have certainly taken my time but that I have also allowed as an excuse to not take the best self care and now I also have a new "career" that I am very excited about and want to look my best to be my best.

Today may be April 2 but it is the first day in serious care to get back into my Levi's! Loooove my jeans and halter tops! But we won't push it at 55! (But who freakin knows what I am really capable of huh?).
So to day was a very aerobic walk with the four legged trainer names Marley --- and a very hard day 1 of  "gorilla workout" (voted number one exersice app) that might have taken 8 minutes (need to time it)

It is also the first day in a seven day detox that I plan on repeating till I get at least 4 consecutive days following the rules (except for that one rule about NO COFFEE - sorry bite me!).  It is rightfully called
Spring Detox

Also want to clean up our outside a bit to prepare it for packing and saw on one of the many trillion of blogs I read that the bald man that saved my marriage in the bathroom is excellent for cleaning out door furniture too! Think I will try him out on the litter boxes too.

And then of course after we get moved I want to plant and grow all sorts of flowers veggies and herbs
Need to go to the Fort Worth botanical gardens and see what they are growing

Oh my look what I did

Oh my-- I had to get an eyebrow that was SO not where I wanted it! And went into our brand new bathroom to search and destroy the misdirected hair and of course the tweezers were not on top of the  beauty supply box but closer to the bottom. So I had to pull stuff out and spread things all over the counter top and keep track of the wayward hair. "Nail polish? That doesn't belong in this particular box! But it was Momma's and very special to me because it was one of her fav colors so I will set it over here."

Ahhhh omg nail polish -- old nail polish does it rinse? wipe?
omg how can I replace the sink without Einstein knowing?
OMG he is going to kill me! Lecture me to a slow and painful suicide!

Fingernail polish remover yeah!!! Nope doesn't work y'all!
Omg I can hear all of his stupid humiliating questions - please don't let my life end this way!!

random plans of survival running thru my head--- i will meet him at the door and ask for a divorce and be steps ahead of him! (Cause he will want one when he sees this sink)
He will be so surprised he will not care payout the new sink mess.

Inhale dear it's a white sink you need to think bleach thoughts --- white blood like stains, oh huh it's coming to me! Clorox magic wipes... I think I just bought some... And it will help my cut thumb I am sure

Ahhhh I believe I hear angels singing "glooory haliluyah" WELL if they weren't I WAS!!

just a little time with a smiling muscular bald guy and I won't have to ask for a divorce and I won't have to die humiliated by stupid Einstein questions either!! Life is really good!!!
